9/07/09 Monday "Glory to the Lamb"; "Agnus Dei"; "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus"

The wicked have placed a snare in your way to entangle you in their demonic web.  Do not fear them nor be concerned because of their dark plans for I have placed My answer within you.  Be careful to rule over your soul and not respond from your emotions.  A soft answer turns away wrath.  Your confidence is in Me.  Do not allow it to be stolen by brazen men who's hearts are hardened and consciences seared.  Do not grieve over the past that never was.  These are days when the secrets of the heart shall be revealed.  The evil schemes and devices of the wicked shall be exposed to the light.  They do not contend with you but with Me!  Their prince is directing their ways.  He seeks to destroy and discredit the treasure within you.  Release your soulish desire for everything to be "nice."  "Nice" does not equal Godly.  Do not swing to the opposite pole and allow your wrath to nullify My righteous plan.  They are bound with cords of bitterness.  The axe is the only remedy to these deep roots.  Don't become mired in the quagmire of the familiar and comfortable life.  I have a new and exciting path for you to follow.  You must hasten to follow Me and not miss the "window of opportunity" that is before you.  Let the dead bury the dead.  Don't keep trying to arrange the deck chairs on a sinking ship.  There are those who will never understand or appreciate you.  The praise of men is a shallow goal when I am offering you the keys to My kingdom.  You must choose to follow Me.  Say, "Father, I release them into your plan for their life."  Release the cares of today that loom so large in your mind.  You cannot dwell upon them.  Be filled with My Spirit and enter into a refreshing for the journey ahead.  He will wash away your fears and tears and smooth the furrowed brow.  He will restore your peace within.  Remember -- I AM in control!

Ps 37:12-19 (KJV) 12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.  13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.  14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.  15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.  16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.  17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.  18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.  19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

Is 54:15-17 (RSV) 15 If any one stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you. 16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy; 17 no weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, says the LORD."

Pr 4:14-19 (RSV) 14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on. 16 For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made some one stumble. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. 18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. 19 The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble.

Pr 4:20-27 (RSV) 20 My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. 22 For they are life to him who finds them, and healing to all his flesh. 23 Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flow the springs of life. 24 Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. 25 Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. 26 Take heed to the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure. 27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.

John Ives, 07/31/09 Friday "I Woke Up this Morning With My Mind Stayed on Jesus"; "Love, Love, Love, Love"; "As the Deer"
Because of My mercy and loving kindness I have forestalled forestall the Day of Judgment.  When shall the sons of men turn from their wicked ways and cry out for Me?  How long shall I tarry before I send My Son?  The cup of wickedness is quickly filling, yet where is the cry of repentance?  Shall the righteous turn a deaf ear to the cry of the innocent as Lot did many years ago?  When shall the "good and decent" people stop cowering in the shadows and rebuke the abominations that fill the nations?  Is there one who will take a stand with Me and speak forth what I am saying?  Who has known My heart?  Who grieves for the injustice and violence that is blatantly demonstrated?  Wake up from your slumber, My sleeping bride.  Shake yourself and come to your senses.  Shall the Day of your Visitation come and you be not aware?  Your heart has become callous and cold.  Blind hirelings have spoken soothing words to you while the wolves have come in!  I shall raise up true shepherds who shall gather My bruised and bleeding flock.  I shall deal harshly with those who have had charge over them, yet only for worldly gain.  I shall not allow My heritage to be destroyed by the wicked.  I shall gather them.  My Spirit shall lead them to refuge from the storm.  They shall be safe within My sanctuary.  The time is short.  The hour is close.  Do not listen to those who would give you false hope.  Place your trust in My Voice and run to safety.
Ez 9:8 (AMP)  And now, for a brief moment, grace has been shown us by the Lord our God, Who has left us a remnant to escape and has given us a secure hold in His holy place, that our God may brighten our eyes and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
Ec 12:11 (AMP) The words of the wise are like prodding goads, and firmly fixed [in the mind] like nails are the collected sayings which are given [as proceeding] from one Shepherd. Is 57:15 (AMP)  For thus says the high and lofty One — He Who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, but with him also who is of a thoroughly penitent and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the thoroughly penitent [bruised with sorrow for sin].
Mt 5:3 (AMP) Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous — with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!
Ps 24:3-5 (AMP) 3 Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

John Ives, 07/24/09 Friday "How Great is Our God"; "I Just Want to Praise You"; "I Stand in Awe"

You NEVER have to defend what I have told you.  Those who have ears to hear shall hear.  Those who have hardened their hearts CANNOT hear, no matter what is said.  Those who have CHOSEN to believe the lies of the devil WILL not hear.  My Words are power and life.  They shall accomplish all that I have spoken.  There is a remnant that cherishes My Words.  They keep them and ponder them to grasp their deep meaning.  They have their minds and hearts set on Me.  They eat My Word and it is sweet to their innermost parts.  These are they who say, "Be it unto me according to Thy Word."  The door to My heavenly treasure is open to them and they are filled with My secret wisdom.  They have access to Me through their fellowship that has matured.  They do not shrink back in shame, but can boldly claim what has been granted to them.  All My promises are truly theirs for they have ears that are keen to listen and hearts that are quick to obey.  They have hungered and thirsted and now are filled with My righteousness.  Their greatest delight is to bask in My radiance.  Surely I shall guide them with My eye and they shall not fear what is coming upon the earth.  They are looking for My return.  The wicked and the dull of heart are not so.  They are given over to this present world.  They do not regard Me.  On the contrary, they think that I am a bystander looking in on their lives but not willing or able to interact with them.  They believe that I will consider their "good" deeds and wink at the darkness of their hearts.  Terrible judgment awaits them.  Still multitudes of others hold to religion and profess to have "trusted" in Me for their "salvation."  They believe that their brand of piety earns them a seat at My table.  They may have earnestly believed at the beginning, but because they have no root, they have withered in the scorching heat of the sun.  They don't realize that their zeal has become only a dried, empty form.  Their belief rests on their ability to quote favorite verses from My Word.  They believe that quoting them somehow binds Me.  The Pharisees did this also.  They didn't understand that I see the thoughts and intents of the heart. It is the righteous and humble heart that has My ear.  That one who is truly united with Me in the Spirit, his spirit to Mine, enjoys a sweet, secret fellowship with Me that others cannot imagine.  This one is seen as a fool to the world, but his "foolishness" is a delight to Me.  I shall do great works through their hands for their hearts are pure and they only wish to glorify My Father and to bring honor to My Name.  No selfish motives are within them and they place no confidence in their natural abilities.  They shall have a part in My plan for the consummation of all things.  Shout aloud the call to My remnant.  Call forth those whose hope has become dim.  Demonstrate My resurrection life.  Show them this old, "new" way.  Let go of yesterday and embrace the new day that I have prepared for you.  Expect the unexpected and marvelous.  Tell My people, " My God is a Wonderful Father and He is gathering His children to Himself!"  Dance and sing before Me and be free in My Spirit.
Ps 25:14 (AMP) The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.
Jn 7:17 (AMP) If any man desires to do His will (God's pleasure), he will know (have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself) whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from Myself and of My own accord and on My own authority.
Jn 15:15 (AMP) I do not call you servants (slaves) any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing (working out). But I have called you My friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father. [I have revealed to you everything that I have learned from Him.]
Dt 29:29 (AMP) The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all of the words of this law.
Dt 30:11-14 (AMP) 11 For this commandment which I command you this day is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off. 12 It is not [a secret laid up] in heaven, that you should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it? 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who shall go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it? 14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it.
Ps 31:20 (AMP) In the secret place of Your presence You hide them from the plots of men; You keep them secretly in Your pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Ps 91:1-2 (AMP) 1 HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
Pr 3:32 (AMP) For the perverse are an abomination [extremely disgusting and detestable] to the Lord; but His confidential communion and secret counsel are with the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him).
Am 3:7 (AMP) Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.
Mk 4:11-12 (AMP) 11 And He said to them, To you has been entrusted the mystery of the kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly]; but for those outside [of our circle] everything becomes a parable, 12 In order that they may [indeed] look and look but not see and perceive, and may hear and hear but not grasp and comprehend, lest haply they should turn again, and it [their willful rejection of the truth] should be forgiven them.
Mk 4:21-25 (AMP) 21 And He said to them, Is the lamp brought in to be put under a peck measure or under a bed, and not [to be put] on the lampstand? 22 [Things are hidden temporarily only as a means to revelation.] For there is nothing hidden except to be revealed, nor is anything [temporarily] kept secret except in order that it may be made known. 23 If any man has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him perceive and comprehend. 24 And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you — and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. 25 For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force],
Eph 1:9-12 (AMP) 9 Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him, 10 [He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth. 11 In Him we also were made [God's] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will, 12 So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory!
Mt 13:15 (AMP) For this nation's heart has grown gross (fat and dull), and their ears heavy and difficult of hearing, and their eyes they have tightly closed, lest they see and perceive with their eyes, and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears, and grasp and understand with their heart, and turn and I should heal them.

John Ives, 07/14/09 Tuesday "Blow the Trumpet in Zion"; "It's a New Season"; "I Stand in Awe"; "Alleluia"; "We Sing Praises to Your Name"

If A = B and B = C, then A = C.  It is the Father to will, the Son to speak, and the Spirit to do.  Truly if you are within Me then My Father, My Spirit and I are within you also.  You are a part of the mysterious, glorious Christ.  No longer see yourself as you did in the past.  No longer believe that you dwell in the common, earthly realm.  Truly believe that you are in the heavenly realm and you SHALL be!  Yet even as I speak, I hear you ask in your heart, "But, how?"  This must come from REVELATION, not from reasoning.  Your mind cannot accept it on it's own.  It must be taught from experience.  Pray to the Father to give you a SPIRIT OF REVELATION that you may believe.  Cast down the stronghold of unbelief that has been choking the words that I have spoken to you.  You have started strong, but are fainting in your due season.  Your spirit is strong, but your flesh is weak.  You are depending upon your will to follow Me.  Your mind must become subject to your spirit.  Don't consider the boisterous waves around you.  Keep your eyes upon Me.  You are seated in authority with Me.  Allow the Spirit of Adoption to wash away your fear and doubts.  My Spirit is brooding over you to bring you to full maturity.  He longs to see your heart eager to follow after Me.  Break free from the entanglements of this corrupt world that have filled your heart with shame and condemnation.  They do not have the power to hold you if you will fully trust in My Name and speak to the root and command it to wither.  Do not allow your soul to come into agreement with those who have no part in Me.  Even those who present themselves as believers yet do not have My light within them will seek to get you to agree with them.  Do not, for the sake of friendship or sympathy, agree with them, for in so doing, you bind yourself to their unbelief.  I am not saying that you should ignore them, or withhold mercy, but it is more important for you to keep free from frustration.  Make it a matter to pray for them.  It is most important that you give MY comfort than to give comfort that comes from your soul.  Listen for My Spirit.  He will give you what you should say.  Keep yourself pure.  Don't allow the corruption in the atmosphere to settle upon you and for you to become soiled and unclean.  Constantly return to My waters to wash the soil from your feet.  Be careful where you seek fellowship.  Not all that seems good is from Me.  There is only a short time before you awaken to a world around you such as you could never believe.  There is coming a famine in the land for true Manna from Heaven.  There will be plenty of bread to feed the soul.  It will bring comfort and ease, but it will not lead to true righteousness.  That is why you MUST turn away now, before the onslaught of the enemy intensifies even greater than now.  A deluge of filth and abomination is about to pour forth.  My Holy Word will be scoffed at openly.  Those who believe shall be the object of ridicule and abuse.  They shall be regarded as fanatical, intolerant and radical.  Soon it shall be much more difficult to stand.  Only those who have made their salvation secure within Me shall survive.  A great falling away is coming.  Men's hearts shall grow cold.  The window of opportunity is drawing to a close.  We must do the will of the Father while the light of day remains.  The Spirit knows all things.  He knows the schemes and plans of the enemy.  It is only through Him that you may produce fruit that shall remain.  Do not squander the opportunities that He brings before you.  Is your vessel prepared to hold the greater glory that He desires to show forth through you?  Can I trust you to lay aside all that would hold you back?  The time is now to finally make this Great Treasure yours, no matter the tearing or agony required.  I will not settle for partial commitment.  I will only manifest Myself to those who lay down themselves completely.  It doesn't matter what the worldly news heralds.  Be more concerned about what My Good News heralds.  The church and the heathen need to hear what the Spirit is saying today.  Will you pay the price to be and instrument for that voice?

Mt 6:7 (KJV)  But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Acts 4:25-30 (KJV) 25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?  26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.  27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,  28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.  29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant to thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,  30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

Joel 2:15-16 (AMP) 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion; set apart a fast [a day of restraint and humility]; call a solemn assembly. 16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation; assemble the elderly people, gather the children and the nursing infants; let the bridegroom [who is legally exempt from attending] go forth from his chamber and the bride out of her closet. [None is exempt from the humiliation.]

Jas 4:4 (AMP) You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world's friend is being God's enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God.

Jn 6:28-29 (KJV) 28 Then said they to him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?  29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Jn 14:10-14 (RSV)   10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves. 12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; 14 if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

John Ives, 07/08/09 Tuesday ""O, the Glory"; "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome”

Many seek Me for what they may get from Me.  They think that they can "add" Me to their life to make it "better." They come running to Me only in times of trouble.  They wouldn't dream of loosing their life to find Mine.  O yes, in words they profess to have given Me their lives, but who is really making the choices?  They wear bracelets that say, "What WOULD Jesus do?"  They don't realize that it is a sign that they are living their own lives.  Instead, they should be asking, "What is Jesus doing?"  Do you not recall Me saying, when I was on earth,  "The Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, that the Son does likewise."  I didn't walk around asking Myself, "What would My Father do?"  My life was lived, moment-by-moment, doing what I saw Him doing.  Why would you expect your life to be any different?  To live life any other way is idolatry!  It's making YOUR OWN WAY through life expecting Me to bless it.  Living life My way is the only way to My abundant life.  Here's the truth:  Life in this world is based on lack:  Life in My kingdom is based on abundance.  Supply in this world is based on accumulating:  Supply in My kingdom is based on it being added to.  Don't misunderstand Me. I am not saying that you can just sit back and it will come to you.  Sometimes it will, but mostly it comes as you are on the way, doing My will.  It is not wrong to have more than enough.  It IS wrong to covet after riches.  When you have riches in this way, it is the "riches" that have you!  I will abundantly bless that one whose heart has been through the fire and his heart's desire is to further My kingdom.  He knows that wisdom is to be more desired than gold.  This wisdom is ME.  This wisdom is My heart.  His delight is to do My will.  It brings Me joy to see him delighted in Me.  Here's the point:  What do you cherish?  Where is your life's treasure?  There you will find your heart and from your heart, you can see what is driving your life.  You can't have it both ways.  That leads to a "helter-skelter" life - up and down, back and forth, off and on.  I am not saying that I want you to become a hermit and give up family, friends and wholesome hopes.  I am saying that My way is better.  My way is the only way.  My way is through My cross.  My way is to deny your life and find My plan for My life lived in you.  It's time to burn your bridges behind you.  It's time to take a more excellent way.  It's time to step up to the "super highway" of My abundant life.  It can ONLY be lived IN Me.  Make your choice now before the storm comes.

Mt 6:19-34 (RSV) 19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light; 23 but if your eye is not sound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! 24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. 34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day.
1 Jn 2:15-17 (RSV) 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever. Lk 12:15 (RSV) And he said to them, "Take heed, and beware of all covetousness; for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
Eph 5:5 (RSV) Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
1 Tim 6:6-10 (RSV) 6 There is great gain in godliness with contentment; 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world; 8 but if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced their hearts with many pangs.
1 Cor 1:26-30 (RSV) 26 For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth; 27 but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong, 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption; 31 therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord."

You are approaching a split in the road ahead.  One road continues in the same way that you have been traveling.  The other is one that is narrow and less traveled.  There are those who would urge you to stay with them.  They don't want the narrow road.  They say, "Don't get carried away.  Don't be a fanatic.  Stay with us."  But to go on with Me, you MUST follow Me.  They believe in a "Jesus" that winks at their selfish ways.  This "Jesus" makes them comfortable and they can piously cry out to him in time of need.  To these one Day I will say, "I never knew you!"  You have hungered for more.  You have tasted of My goodness.  It's time to make your decision.  It's time to count the cost.  Those who desire to follow Me will be willing to let go of anything or anyone who would keep them from truly knowing Me.  There is a way marked "good" and another marked "God."  Old, soulish beliefs and dead tradition that limit your hearing and cloud your vision must be cast off.  I am drawing you into a new season of great fruitfulness and joy.  Will you come?  Will you release loved ones into My care?  Will you be ashamed of Me before men?  Are you willing to be seen as a fool in order to gain My wisdom?  Can you let go of old hurts and disappointments?  Can you let go of resentment that has long since been suppressed, but is just below the surface and is coloring the way you view others and even Me?  There is a bridge ahead.  You must shed all in order to cross over.  Let My Spirit reveal those areas of bitterness and disappointment in your heart.  Choose to surrender your "right" to hold on to them.  You must say, "I forgive and release them!  Father, forgive me for willfully cherishing the hurts and desires for vengeance.  Please cleanse me from the unrighteous thoughts that have become strongholds within me."  Choose to walk in freedom and do not become snared once again by anger or fear.  If you should be confronted again, breathe a prayer saying, "Father, forgive them for they don't know what they are doing."  Let go of anxiety over jobs, finances or security.  The most secure place you can be is IN Me!  Turn down the narrow road.  Your steps shall be sure if My Spirit is directing them.

Is 48:1 (KJV) But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
Jas 2:23 (KJV) And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Ex 33:3 (KJV) And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
Jn 15:13-19 (KJV) 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.  14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.  15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known to you.  16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.  17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.  18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.  19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Lk 6:22-23;26 (RSV)  22 "Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man! 23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.  26 "Woe to you, when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.
Jas 4:4-10 (AMP) 4 You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world's friend is being God's enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God. 5 Or do you suppose that the Scripture is speaking to no purpose that says, The Spirit Whom He has caused to dwell in us yearns over us and He yearns for the Spirit [to be welcome] with a jealous love? 6 But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it).  7 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery]. 9 [As you draw near to God] be deeply penitent and grieve, even weep [over your disloyalty]. Let your laughter be turned to grief and your mirth to dejection and heartfelt shame [for your sins]. 10 Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant].
2 Cor 6:14-18: 7:1 (RSV) 14 Do not be mismated with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." 7:1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.

The overcomer cuts off the snake's head instead of trying to kill it with a straw.  The fearful and faithless cower in the shadows.  There comes a time when you must decide that My Word can be depended on.  You don't need faith when the battle is already over.  Faith is for the battlefield.  Victories are won in the strategy room and on the practice field.  It must happen in your heart and in your mind.  Action always follows the thought.  When the trust issue has already been settled, a swift response comes in the face of present danger.  Boldness is born from confidence.  Confidence is forged in trials and testings.  It is then that you learn that I am a faithful God.  All things are possible to those who believe.  You must go through the bear and the lion to reach the giants.  The enemy must be utterly defeated and destroyed - no compromise, no truce.  Come into agreement with what I have said.  Decree the victory is Mine.  Declare My Word with your voice.  Stand and see My deliverance established.
2 Ki 13:15-19 (KJV) 15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows. 16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands. 17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD'S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them. 18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed. 19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
2 Ki 4:3-6 (RSV) 3 Then he said, "Go outside, borrow vessels of all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few. 4 Then go in, and shut the door upon yourself and your sons, and pour into all these vessels; and when one is full, set it aside." 5 So she went from him and shut the door upon herself and her sons; and as she poured they brought the vessels to her. 6 When the vessels were full, she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another." Then the oil stopped flowing.
Mt 7:7-8 (AMP) 7 Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.
1 John 3:8b (KJV) For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

John Ives, 06/17/09 Wednesday "Days of Elijah"; "Holy, Holy, Holy Are You, Lord"; "He's Been Faithful"; "Thank You, Thank You, Jesus"

Be diligent and watchful.  The night is almost over.  The Day approaches when all shall be revealed.  Many have allowed themselves to be caught up in the affairs of this world.  Others have slumbered.  They have squandered the days of fruitfulness and shall suffer loss at My appearing.  Millions have not been warned of the great and terrible Day when they shall have to give account for their deeds.  They have hardened their hearts against the Truth and have said that they still have time to repent.  They do not understand that I shall come as a thief in the night.  There is certainly a cost to turn and follow Me today, but there is coming a time when the road will be much more difficult to follow.  Many who have followed Me out of their convenience shall forsake Me.  The events of the day have caused many to believe that My return is soon, YET THEY HAVE NOT LOOKED INWARD AND JUDGED THEMSELVES!  Yes, the time is getting short, but these things should be a clear warning to trim the lamps and be ready.  Instead, many are thinking that they are ready!  They have forgotten that I am coming for a bride that is without spot or blemish.  The circumstances that they endure are to allow My Spirit to perfect them into My image, not to chafe and complain.  Adversity and affliction are the crucibles where I burn off the dross.  Remember that I learned obedience through the things that I suffered.  I am your way of escape.  Turn to Me.  Many of you have resisted the opportunities of the past and are still mired in the same struggles of the previous season.  You must come through this time.  Expect Me to be in the circumstances around you.  Find Me.  Cry out to Me and I shall deliver you.  There is still time to become a flaming fire for Me.  Loose yourself.  Declare that you SHALL be free.  Be ready to make a turn for the better.
Mt 25:1-13 (KJV) 1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.  2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.  3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:  4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.  5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.  6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.  7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.  8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil: for our lamps are gone out.  9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.  10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.  11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.  12 But he answered and said, Verily I say to you, I know you not.  13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man cometh. Ps 119:105 (KJV) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.   1 Cor 7:34 (KJV) There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. Mt 5:14-16 (KJV) 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.  15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a close vessel, but on a candlestick: and it giveth light to all that are in the house.  16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.  Eph 5:8-9 (KJV) 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Life happens in a moment.  In a moment, a child is born and someone's life on earth is over.   In a moment, there is sudden joy or crushing agony.  In a moment, a lifetime of savings is wiped away.  In a moment, riches befall another.  In one moment, the trumpet shall blow, the shout will go forth, the clouds will part, and I shall return.  What good will all your riches be to you if you are left behind?  Your life is not the memories of the past, nor the hopes of tomorrow.  Yesterday is gone forever.  You don't necessarily have the promise of tomorrow.  It all comes down to a heartbeat, a breath, a moment.   But, for those who have passed from death into My life, they shall live forever.  They are abiding in the Great I AM.  They have both a heritage and a future.  The righteousness enjoy the comfort and warmth of My abiding presence continually.  Their path is filled with light and hope.  Woe to the man who puts his trust only in his natural abilities and accomplishments.  Woe to the nation who does likewise and does not acknowledge that all it has is a gift from Me.  They vault themselves above others and trumpet their position in their arrogant pride.  Woe to those who give Me lip service, but inwardly have the same prideful heart.  They have refused My Sprit's promptings and hardened their hearts.  They are a stiff-necked generation openly flaunting and even celebrating their rebellious ways.  They presume upon My mercy and forbearance and have stored up wrath for themselves.  They revile what they don't understand and scoff at My messengers.  Soon the hour of woe and suffering shall fall upon an unsuspecting generation.  Woe to those who have not pressed in to capture the true prize that I offered them.  Their blind guides have cheated them from the safe haven for the storm that is approaching.  Yet for those who have hungered and thirsted for Me, I have richly bestowed all that they shall need.  They have bought gold from Me that has been proven through fire.  They shall have TRUE riches in the day of famine.  They are filled with My love.  Their hearts are prepared for the day when fear shall grip other's hearts.  To those who do not, in this moment, know this blessed rest, I say, "Run - don't walk to Me!"  Escape the coming shaking!  Taste and see My goodness and repent from your ways!  It's not enough to trust in some half-hearted commitment that has not produced enduring fruit in your life.  It's not enough to trust in "the church" or your "good works."  You must truly KNOW Me from experience!  Come now!  In the next moment, it may be too late!

1Tim 6:14-19 (KJV) 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:  15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;  16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach to; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.  17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;  18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;  19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

1Tim 6:17-19 (AMP) 17 As for the rich in this world, charge them not to be proud and arrogant and contemptuous of others, nor to set their hopes on uncertain riches, but on God, Who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for [our] enjoyment. 18 [Charge them] to do good, to be rich in good works, to be liberal and generous of heart, ready to share [with others], 19 In this way laying up for themselves [the riches that endure forever as] a good foundation for the future, so that they may grasp that which is life indeed.

Rev 3:14-22 (KJV) 14 And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.  16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.  17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:  18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.  19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.  20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.  21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.  22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

John Ives, 06/03/09 Wednesday "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome"

My Spirit within you is an ever-flowing river.  You must always stay in the stream.  Circumstances and surroundings change, and you must have the anointing for the moment.  My Spirit shall give revelation that shall enable you to navigate between rocky places that would cause you to fall.  He shall guide you to the Truth in the fog of emotions and anxiety.  With His gentle promptings, you shall have a sure footing when others are falling upon the slippery way.  He is within you to comfort you, to teach you and to guide you.  Honor the Father and Me by welcoming Him into every part of your life.  Don't grieve Him by thought, word or deed.  He is the source of your new life.  If you long for a life that is overflowing with Him, you must yield all of your life.  Worry, anxiety and doubt are symptoms of an unsurrendered life.  Realize that this IS the day that I have made!  Rejoice and be glad in it, for I have given you a precious opportunity to see My hand at work in it.  Don't fret over what might come.  Trust Me.  Tell My Spirit that you trust Him.  Follow where He leads.  He will never lead you astray.  As you let go of your cares into My hands, you shall know My peace.  Come back to My resting place and expect Me to work things out.  Seek My wisdom that you may be able to wisely handle what is before you.  You know the Source.  Move in My Spirit.

Jn 14:16-21 (KJV) 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.  19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.  20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.  21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Jn 14:26 (KJV)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you.

Jn 15:26-27 (KJV) 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:  27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Jn 16:7-16 (KJV) 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you.  8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;  10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;  11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.  12 I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now.  13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.  14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it to you.  15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it to you.  16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

John Ives, 05/27/09 Wednesday "Your Mercy Goes Much Deeper";  "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome"; "Holy, Holy, Holy is Your Name"

Why do you strive as if by your own strength and righteousness you can do My will?  That only brings discouragement and failure.  I am not pleased by what you do apart from My Spirit's leading and ability.  Don't look around at others who seem to "have it together" and mimic them.  You don't know their struggles and insecurities.  I am calling you to put your whole trust in Me and the Words that I have given you.  Don't you know that it is My life within you that shall overcome?  Don't you realize that I have called you to a walk that is impossible in the natural?  Why would you want to build a house of cards that can be blown down by the first strong wind?  Great crowds, beautiful buildings and emotional shouting don't impress Me.  They look good to the world, but are empty of true substance.  What I desire is an honest and good heart.  That is someone who humbly walks before Me and puts his trust in My loving kindness and not in his "performance."  I am the One that will transform you.  It is happening on the inside.  Small steps of instant obedience bring the victory.  The small rudder turns the great ship.  Place a guard upon your lips.  Don't voice your doubts and fears.  Don't pollute the atmosphere and bring delight to the enemy.  Don't pick up what you have placed upon the altar.  Release your faith with your lips and give new life into a decaying and dying world.  What others need is the Treasure within you.  It comes from what I have birthed and nurtured within your spirit.  They don't need pious, religious words from your soul.  Be a vessel that has been prepared for My service.  Be holy, even as I am holy.   Don't look at yourself through the eyes of your past failures and the words that others have spoken concerning you.  Of course there are areas that bring shame, but there is a hidden part that is precious in My sight.  Encourage yourself.  Rush quickly into My rest and safety.  I have called you holy and beloved.  That is enough.  Trust Me to perfect that which I have begun.  Change your countenance.  Turn your face toward Me.

1 Jn 5:4 (RSV) For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.

Rom 12:1-2 (KJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Rom 10:6-11 (KJV) 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Is 28:16 (AMP) 16 Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic].

Mt 12 :34-37 (KJV) 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.  35 A good man, out of the good treasure of the heart, bringeth forth good things: and an evil man, out of the evil treasure, bringeth forth evil things.  36 But I say to you, That for every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account in the day of judgment.  37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Mt 15:18-20 (KJV) 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.  19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:  20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Jas 1:12-15 (AMP) 12 Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor's] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one. 14 But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). 15 Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.
Heb 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

COMFORT FOR TROUBLED TIMES My little children keep yourselves in My love.  Don't allow fear, anxiety, worry, vexation, anger, wrath or despair to steal your most precious possession.  Though you be faced with great loss or a bad report from the doctor, keep yourself in My love.  No matter what your circumstances are, I have promised to never leave you, nor to forsake you.  Don't allow your faith to be shaken.  Look steadfast toward Me.  Don't allow your emotions or the opinions of others to become your belief of the truth.  All things are possible for Me.  But should you find that you must walk through some dark and lonely times, believe that I am always good and that I will make a way where there seems to be none.  You must conquer your fears.  You must take captive all thoughts that contradict what you know is true.  That is why you MUST keep yourself in My love.  But you say, "How, Lord?"  Ask My Spirit.  He shall fill you with My love.  But first, you must tell your own soul to come into agreement with your spirit and My Spirit.  To the unbeliever, this would seem totally ridiculous.  Alas, they have no hope within them.  But you are not among them.  You have tasted of My goodness in the past.  You have seen My hand move in your behalf.  Trust in My goodness.  Ask Me to bring others into your path that can stand in agreement with you.  Be open to be led by My Spirit.  The Good Shepherd knows how to take care of His sheep!  Believe that I am working to bring forth My perfect will in your life.  Trust Me and do not despair.

Jude 24-25 (KJV) 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.
Jude 21 (AMP)  Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) — [which will bring you] unto life eternal.
Rom 5:11 (AMP)  Not only so, but we also rejoice and exultingly glory in God [in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have now received and enjoy [our] reconciliation.
Jer 9:24 (AMP)  But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.
Eph 3:16-21 (AMP) 16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. 17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, 18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; 19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! 20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] — 21 To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
Phil 4:4-8 (AMP) 4 Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!  5 Let all men know and perceive and recognize your unselfishness (your considerateness, your forbearing spirit). The Lord is near [He is coming soon]. 6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. 7 And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

John Ives, 05/12/09 Tuesday "Holy, Holy, Holy, Are You Lord"; "Jesus, Name Above All Names"; "O, Come Let Us Worship and Bow Down"; "There's Just Something About That Name"

The train is coming; you can hear its horn blow in the distance.  The train is coming, with a force that cannot be denied.  The train is coming, are you ready to go? The train is coming, clear the tracks quickly.  The train is coming, nothing else matters.  The train is coming.  The train is coming!  The train is coming!  Many are wrapped up in their own lives and affairs.  They don't hear the warning horn.  They don't sense it's approaching.  It will quickly pass them by, for they have not known.  But you have heard.  You have made plans to get on.  For you the mighty train will slow.  Leap aboard when it comes.  New strength shall replace the struggles of the past.  What seemed impossible shall suddenly be a snap.  There's glory.  There's power.  There's a closer walk.  There's no lack and plenty to spare for others.  What you have heard of for many years is suddenly here.  Don't look upon your feebleness, frailty or failures.  Look beyond to what can be through Me.  It CAN be - if you only believe IN Me!  Don't doubt.  Don't shrink back in shame and fear.  I blow a new breath of My Spirit in you and upon you. Your eyes shall see what I see.  Your hands shall do what I do.  I give you a new robe and place My ring upon you.  I shod your feet with new shoes.  I call you My son.  Get aboard and leave the driving to Me.

Jn 8:34-36 (AMP) 34 Jesus answered them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Whoever commits and practices sin is the slave of sin. 35 Now a slave does not remain in a household permanently (forever); the son [of the house] does remain forever. 36 So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free.

Rom 6:16-18 (KJV) 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?  17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.  18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

John Ives, 5/06/09 Wednesday "To Him Who Sits on the Throne"; "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus"; "There is Healing in This House"; "What a Mighty God We Serve"

These are days filled with uncertainty and fear.  The whole world has been turned upon its ear.  The fabric of society is tearing.  There is no trust in leaders.  Though they trumpet their confident belief before the masses, within their hearts are filled with fear.  The wolf is at the door and the house is built of straw.  There are even those in My church who are perplexed and fearful.  Do they not remember that I said, "Fasten yourself to the mast, for the storm approaches?"  Indeed, the storm is upon them, yet their eyes shall behold even greater calamity that will cause them to reel in unbelief.  If you have entered My rest, you will be safe and at peace.  For the righteous, these are not days to quake with fear.  They know that I am still upon My throne and though the waves crash around them, it shall not cause them ruin.  The calm days of yesterday are gone.  Now is the time for My children to be a beacon for the weary traveler.  These days shall reveal the foundations that men have built their houses upon.  If your trust has been made sure in Me through our true fellowship, then you shall be able to speak My words with the voice of authority.  The waters shall part.  The creation shall obey.  I shall work with you and give miracles, signs and wonders.  Men's hearts shall be open for the true manifestation of My presence and you shall see great fruitfulness.  What took years to accomplish in the past shall only take days.  Peace and righteousness shall be upon your countenance.  A great harvest is coming during this season.  Take heart and don't allow your soul to be shaken by the circumstances around you.  Things are not as they appear.  Look to My Spirit for wisdom and understanding.  Pray in the Spirit and declare in the understanding.  Establish My will upon the earth.
Rom 14:17 (KJV)  For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
1 Jn 1:7-9 (KJV) 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Jas 3:18 (KJV) And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Is 32:17 (AMP) And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.
Pr 11:18 (KJV) The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
Pr 11:30-31 (KJV) 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.  31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
Rom 3:22-24 (RSV) 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction; 23 since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.
Jas 5:16b (AMP) The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Acts 24:16 (AMP) Therefore I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men.

Heb 10:38 (AMP) But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him.

Is 30:15 (KJV)  For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.

John Ives, 04/29/09  Wednesday "You Deserve the Glory"; "O,the Glory"

Many profess their love for Me with their lips, while their hearts cry out another message.  Are the ignorant and do not realize that I see the heart?  Do they really believe that their show of piety will Move My heart?  I desire truth from the heart.  If they would  level with Me and own their thoughts and the intentions of their hearts, they could truly repent and be healed.  Yes, healed of the breach between Us that they don't realize is there.  It's time to decide if I'm Real and what I say is true.  I will not "jump through hoops" for an evil and adulterous generation.  It's time for crisis to begin with My house.  I have seen the expression of their hearts from the display of their attitude toward their meager "treasure."  No matter if they be rich or poor, none have grasped My abundance that flows to a new heart that is perfect toward Me.  So which is it?  Am I who I have said that I am, or just a "hard taskmaster" looking for the slightest failing?  That's the difference between being "Father" and being "Daddy."  Little children, My desire is that We become so close that you're comfortable and don't shrink back before Me.  Beyond the veil there is a place where My childen can love and be in awe if Me and KNOW that everything is right between Us.  Decide today to "get on the boat" and trust Me for your peace and security in the midst of the stormy times ahead.
Is 55:6-11 (AMP) 6 Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have love, pity, and mercy for him, and to our God, for He will multiply to him His abundant pardon. 8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
2 Cor 9:6-11 (AMP) 6 [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. 7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving]. 8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. 9 As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever! 10 And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].  11 Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God.
Lk 12:38 (KJV) Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Hos 10:12 (KJV) Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Rev 19:10b (KJV)  for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Lk 12:32-34 (KJV)  32 "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves with purses that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Gal 6:7-10 (MSG) 7 Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!— 8 harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. 9 So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. 10 Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

John Ives, 4/22/09 Wednesday "I Stand in Awe";  "Father, We Love You"

O, that My children would love Me for who I am.  Why do they only come to Me in times of trouble and despair?  Do they not know that the rod is for the stubborn and rebellious child?  Must I break that I might heal?  What price must they pay to turn to Me?  They are squandering the time that I have given them.  They are stunting their growth.  My desire is for mature sons who delight to do My will.  Their hearts are filled with passion and zeal for Me.  They have tasted and seen that I am indeed good.  They have forsaken childish notions that I am the "Great Santa Clause in the sky” showering them with whatever they desire, no matter if they have been "naughty" or "nice."  They have placed their hand to the plow without looking back.  They are not shaken by adversity or affliction for they know that I am working within them a greater weight of glory.  They have forsaken the world's riches in favor of My true wealth.  Goodness and mercy are always with them and they give freely to those in need.  Though they are few in number, they are strong and mighty in the Spirit.  They are warriors who have been tried by fire.  I have called you to build My army.  The centurion had the voice of command because he was under the authority of the emperor.  The drill sergeant worked his recruits hard and turned them into disciplined soldiers.  It's time for those who are called by My Name to grow up.  There is no more time for them to be "nice" in their own eyes.  That's just "playing church."  Let My Word be the sharp sword that it is.  Let it divide that which is of the soul from that which is of the spirit.  Exhort and strengthen them. Faithfully deliver My Word.  Work with Me to build My body.
LK 7: 35 (AMP) Yet wisdom is vindicated (shown to be true and divine) by all her children [by their life, character, and deeds].
1 Cor 1: 24-31 (RSV) 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth; 27 but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong, 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption; 31 therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord."
Eph 8:8-13 (RSV) 8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all men see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things; 10 that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places. 11 This was according to the eternal purpose which he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and confidence of access through our faith in him.
Pr 8:34-36 (RSV) 34 Happy is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. 35 For he who finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD; 36 but he who misses me injures himself; all who hate me love death.
Ps 37:4-5 (AMP) 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.  Lk 12:15;21-23;29-32 (KJV)  15 And he said to them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.  21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.  22 And he said to his disciples, Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.  23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.  29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.  30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.  31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added to you.  32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Mt 22:37-38 (KJV) 37 Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  38 This is the first and great commandment.  39 And the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

John Ives, 4/12/09 Sunday "O,the Glory"; "Alleluia"

Let it go!  You cannot enter into today with the burdens and snares of all the yesterdays.  Brush away the cobwebs of the past that are cluttering your vision.  If I had called you home last night, what would they mean to you today?  Why then do you ignore that I said that old things have passed away and all things are new?  Quit drudging up the old!  LET IT GO!  In the past, you have judged others and even Me!  You have become offended and when you pass judgment upon them, I have heard you.  Don't you realize that your judgment brings the same upon yourself?  Don't you know that your thoughts and the intentions of your heart are open before Me?  You have judged Me when you were vexed and frustrated and lashed out at Me, questioning My goodness and righteousness.  Don't let another moment pass without repenting.  Don't hinder My work within you by feeding the root of bitterness.  I know what I am doing!  Your place is to rejoice in My goodness and mercy toward you and others that you believe don't deserve it.  It's resurrection day!  Let My new life truly spring forth!
Jas 4:12 (KJV) There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Rom 2:1 (KJV) Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
Rom 9:20-24 (KJV) 20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
Rom 14:4 (KJV) Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
Rom 14:13 (KJV)  Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

John Ives, 4/07/09 Tuesday "O, Come Let Us Worship and Bow Down"; "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome"; "We Sing Praises to Your Name, O Lord"; "You Deserve the Glory"

Keep your focus on the goal.  You have allowed your circumstances to distract you from pressing in.  Don't allow the moment of your deliverance to pass you by.  Don't be driven by the immediate and urgent at the expense of the eternal and critical.  Watch lest the demands of the daily routine cause you to be asleep at the switch when the call comes to shift to another track.  I have orchestrated your destiny.  No circumstance is a surprise to Me.  I have always had a plan and you can be sure that it is coming to pass.  There are times when the path is very narrow and you must make a sharp turn to avoid falling.  If you are not keenly listening, you will miss it.  The enemy will try to blur your vision and place static in your ear.  Pray in the Spirit and insight shall come.  You shall have a light for your path.  The shallow and uncommitted shall loose their way and fall into darkness.  Human reason shall not be enough for the days ahead.  You will need supernatural guidance.  The way that seems right to man shall lead to destruction.  Faith appears to be "blind" to those who have not experienced My love bearing them up.  My love is the assurance that faith rests upon.  To know it deep in your heart is to transcend the knowledge of the head.  Keep yourself in My love.  Make every effort to not grieve My Spirit in thought or deed.  He is the source of My life and My love within you.  He is your guide through the difficult times.  Through Him, I am manifested in you.  Don't let the opportunity slip by.  Watch for the narrow opening when the natural veil parts briefly and the supernatural realm can be seen.  It will be a portal to the supernatural.  Elisha watched for Elijah to be taken away and was rewarded with the double portion anointing.  Eagerly watch for your kairos moment.  One moment is all you need.

Heb 13:20-21 (RSV) 20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in you that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Eph 3:16-21 (RSV) 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.

Rom 5:1-5 (AMP) 1 THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God. 3 Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. 4 And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. 5 Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.

John Ives, 4/01/09 Wednesday Agnus Dei"; "Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord"; Welcome Holy Spirit"; "This is My Story"

Though calamity and famine fall all around you, still I shall preserve you.  Fear not, for I am with you.  Hold lightly that which is your hand.  The shaking that is coming upon the earth shall try men's hearts.  Judge your heart before that day that you may be able to stand.  Ask My Spirit to reveal those things within you that must be purged.  Only those with a pure heart shall understand My hand in the days ahead.  You shall not be delivered by soulish insight or cunning skill.  Only a right relationship with Me shall allow you to prosper in the midst of perplexity.  The windows of heaven shall open and a blessing poured out, but only for those who have seen in the Spirit and made their hearts ready.  You shall see the economy of the kingdom at work.  The economy of this world is based upon desire, getting and dissatisfaction.  The eye of man is never satisfied.  The economy of My kingdom is base upon seeking My kingdom first, giving and contentment.  Those who are truly in My kingdom have set their hearts upon true riches in the Spirit and then things are added unto them.  I have those whose hearts are toward Me and I have abundantly blessed them.  They are benefactors of My kingdom.  Their delight is in giving.  I am able to move upon their hearts to show you favor in your hour of need.  I am ridding My body of worldly affections.  The double minded and half hearted shall respond with bitterness and despair for they have pride in their hearts and do not realize that all they have has been a gift from Me.  Those who have become haughty due to the deceitfulness of riches shall be humbled.  I say to you, people of God who are called by My Name, "Cast all your trust upon Me and do not lean upon your own understanding!”  Don't be fooled by the "prosperity preaching."  If you truly believe that I am always good and am always at work to bring about My good and perfect will in you, then these days shall be days of rejoicing for you shall see Me making My bride ready for My return.  Whether I choose to abundantly bless you in material things or not, you will realize that the time that you spend on earth is temporary and short and designed to make you completely into My likeness.  Return to your first love!  Let My Spirit fill you with My love.  Seek the things of My kingdom - love, peace and joy in My Spirit!  Be knit together with those whom My Spirit leads you to.  Be a servant at heart.  Love one another.  Establish My kingdom in your midst before the storm comes.

Heb 12:26-29 (RSV) 26 His voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, "Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven." 27 This phrase, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of what is shaken, as of what has been made, in order that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe; 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Ps 33:16-22 (RSV) 16 A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. 17 The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, 19 that he may deliver their soul from death, and keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and shield. 21 Yea, our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. 22 Let thy steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.

John Ives, 3/25/09 Wednesday  “You Deserve the Glory"; "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus"

Woe to them who work unrighteousness and to them who oppress the needy for unjust gain.  Behold, the fire of My wrath and indignation is stirred.  They presume upon My forbearance and grace and do not see their recompense that is stored up for the Day of Judgment.  Woe to those who have heard My Word yet were offended because their deeds were evil.  They shall have their lot among the heathen.  The mighty have sown unto the wind and shall reap the whirlwind.  They do not see that their very breath is a gift from Me.  What benefit shall wealth, position or power be when the silver cord is snapped?  My heart is toward the contrite and humble.  My ear is ever bent toward them.  Surely I shall deliver them in the time of terror.  They have learned to invest in that which shall endure and they shall not suffer loss when all other's wealth slip through their bags with holes.  They have given to the poor and I shall repay.  They have sown into good soil of the kingdom and their sacrifice is a beautiful fragrance before Me.  They have given from grateful hearts and have believed that I am the Lord of their harvest.  They have hidden within My shelter and rest their heads upon My breast.  The wicked and unbelieving are not so.  Their hearts shall be filled with fear and they shall not know peace when they lie down to rest.  Even though there is chaos and calamity around them, their hearts are hardened toward Me.  Where are the scattered sheep of My fold?  Where are they who have thirsted for the living water and not found it at the dry cisterns of religion?  Cry aloud!  Lift the banner!  Let the light shine forth that the weary traveler may see.  It's time to believe Me for increase.

Rom 10:9-10 (KJV) 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10 For with the heart man believeth to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

Gal 2:16 (KJV)  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Rom 1:17-18 (AMP)  17 For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. [Habakkuk 2:4.] 18 For God's [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative.

John Ives, 3/18/09 Wednesday  "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome"; "Father, We Love You"

Where is the zeal that was there at the first?  Why have I become only an "idea" to you?  Your shame has made you draw away from Me.  You outwardly profess to know and serve Me, while inwardly you run and hide as the first Adam did.  I desire honest and good hearts.  I desire those who embrace the fire.  Their desire is to press through to the kingdom.  There are many who believe they are in the kingdom, but it is one of their own making.  It is a cardboard counterfeit that looks good from the front, but is like a stage set in a theater.  In My kingdom, My will is done, just as it is done in heaven.  Life in My kingdom is to serve Me and serving Me is to know My freedom.  You cannot serve mammon and Me.  If the love of the world is in you, then the love of the Father is not in you.  Serving Me is not doing what you THINK will please Me.  It's seeing My will and plan in your spirit and doing it.  That can only come by seeking Me with your whole heart.  That means that you must determine that you will lay down all the hidden agendas and preconditions that you have made and honestly say, "Be it unto me according to your will."  There are those who want to be delivered from the kingdom of darkness, but don't want to be delivered from the kingdom of SELF.  That's just "playing church."  Millions are doing that.  To put it bluntly, that's adultery:  professing to be joined to Me, but secretly in love with the world and their own soul!  Don't you remember that I said that if you seek to save YOUR life, you would loose it?  No wonder that there is no power in the church.  Outside the camp there is a fire burning.  In the wilderness the Spirit calls to those bound by their own thoughts and mindsets to flee from the old, dead structures.  Return to your first love.  This world and its god have been judged.  Come out from among them and be separate and holy unto Me.  Empty your pockets and your hands.  Repent from your backslidden ways.  Come quickly.  Do not hesitate.  The time is short.  Don't let position, prestige, wealth or comfort hold you back.  The day of My wrath will come.  The prudent man sees the storm clouds gathering and takes action.  It will be either the fire that purges and purifies or the fire of My wrath that consumes My enemies.  Which shall it be?  Don't presume upon My grace and mercy and miss your day of visitation.  Shake yourself loose.  Wipe the scales from your eyes.  Come and truly follow Me.

Jn 6:63 (RSV)  It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Jn 15:3 (KJV)  Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken to you.

Jn 13:10 (KJV) Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

Jn 17:17 (KJV) 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Eph 5:26 (KJV) That he might sanctify and cleanse it [His church] with the washing of water by the word,

1 Pet 1:22 (KJV) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

2 Cor 7:1 (KJV) Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Cor 6:17-18 (KJV) 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Eph 4:22-24 (KJV) 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

1 Jn 3:2-3 (RSV) 2 Beloved, we are God's children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

2 Tim 2:20-22 (AMP) 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also [utensils] of wood and earthenware, and some for honorable and noble [use] and some for menial and ignoble [use]. 21 So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work. 22 Shun youthful lusts and flee from them, and aim at and pursue righteousness (all that is virtuous and good, right living, conformity to the will of God in thought, word, and deed); [and aim at and pursue] faith, love, [and] peace (harmony and concord with others) in fellowship with all [Christians], who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.

Hos 4:1;6 (AMP) 1 HEAR THE word of the Lord, you children of Israel, for the Lord has a controversy (a pleading contention) with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no faithfulness, love, pity and mercy, or knowledge of God [from personal experience with Him] in the land.  6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.

Repair the breach that is an open door to the enemy.  Possess your soul by your patient endurance.  Secure the fortress against the wiles of the enemy.  Cast out all that offends.  Give no opportunity for the evil of this age.  Purify the vessel that is the dwelling place of the Most High One.  Batten down the hatches for the waters are rising.  In all the chaos and confusion that is swirling around in the country, a vile flood of ungodliness has been loosed.  Men's consciences have become seared and what once would have brought shame and embarrassment is now being celebrated.  My church must not be lulled into complacency and compromise by the constant allure of a worldly culture that daily flaunts abomination and rebellion.  For too many years, those who should have been a bulwark against the tide have secretly become "infected" with the same "disease" of the society.  Their voice has no power and authority.  By and large, their message is dismissed out of hand.  My people must rise up and become in fact that which they profess.  They must have in their midst the Holy Place of My indwelling.  From that place, My Spirit's voice will be heeded because people can see lives that validate the message spoken.  I am calling for My remnant to redeem the time and I shall cause them to recover all that has seemed to have been lost.  I shall consummate what I have placed within.  It has not been lost, but has become dormant.  I shall breathe across the smoldering embers and they shall burst into flames again.  They shall seek out others with kindred hearts and become My city upon a hill.  The force of righteousness and holiness emanating from them shall cause them to be witnesses as in the book of Acts.  I shall work mighty signs and wonders and multitudes shall fall and repent.  I shall do all this quickly for the time has arrived for the great gathering of the wheat before My return.

1 Cor 9: 27 (NAS)  but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

Phil 3:3 (RSV)  For we are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh.

Phil 3:7-17 (RSV)  7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith; 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Phil 3:7-11 (RSV) That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

It's the fullness of time.  Thrust in the sickle.  Throw open the barn doors.  Pray for the laborers.  The time is short.  If you submit unto Me with your whole heart and are attentive to My Spirit's prompting, you shall see the glory of God.  Clear your mind of all the clutter.  Rid your soul of fear and uncertainty.  Let go of hidden agendas.  Even what you have thought to be My will must pass through the fire.  What seemed good and worthy must be examined.  There is no longer time for wood, hay and stubble.  All My sheep must pass under My rod.  Boot camp is over.  It's time for a more excellent way.  Many are searching for relief from their present circumstances, but few are listening for the still, small Voice in the midst of their whirlwind.   Chaos and confusion run rampant as men seek to shore up their houses of cards, but the solution is not in man.  They have sown to the wind and are reaping the whirlwind.  Life will never be the same again.  All this shaking shall come upon the world but they that know Me shall be firmly fixed and not shaken.  They shall be prepared and move by My Spirit in the evil day.  Their walk has been tested by affliction and adversity.  Having faced the lion and the bear, they are ready for the giants.  These shall be My strong and valiant warriors.  They have burned their bridges behind themselves and trust only in their Lord.  My angels have charge over all their house.  Are you one of them?  Will you look back having put your hand to the plow?  Embrace the fire.  Be consumed with zeal for Me.  Be done with lesser things.  The kingdom is yours.  Make holiness perfect.  Let the storm winds rage.  Cry out for a vision of the battle plan.  Find your place and fill it.

Rom 12:1-2 (KJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Rom 8:1;4-5;13-14 (KJV) 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.  14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Rom 8:24 (KJV)  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Rom 15:13 (KJV) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 Cor 13:13  (RSV) So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Zec 4:6b (KJV)  Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

John Ives, 2/25/09 Wednesday  "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome"; "Glory to the Lamb"

Sometimes you have to move on and shake the dust off your feet, no matter how much your heart wants to be accepted.  That means that you must continue to focus upon the goal and not become snared by those who will give "lip service", but will not join themselves to the words that you speak.  It's not you that they are rejecting.  It's Me.  They want to keep their idols and remain in their sin and rebellion.  If it will cost them their comfort and convenience, they want no part.  They want to believe in the "meek, suffering Jesus," not the Lord King Jesus.  In spite of trying times, they still clutch tightly to their traditions and men's teachings rather than seek Me out for themselves.  Friends and family are often at the top of the list.  They see the "old you."  You will have to let the dead bury the dead and turn and follow Me.  Don't allow the little foxes to spoil the vine.  The enemy's goal is not you.  It's the anointing that you have.  He's not bothered by the pious masses.  It's the ones that have My anointing resting on them that draw his attack.  They are the ones that can do damage to his kingdom.  Hell knows you by name.  Be on guard to his wiles.  Don't allow yourself to come into strife and anger.  They rob you of My righteousness, My presence and My authority.  No matter how much you are bruised, don't ALLOW yourself to become offended.  It's the ploy of the enemy.  Don't be vexed by circumstances.  Vexation is a sign of a hidden desire to be in control.  My Spirit is at work within you.  Choose to yield to His promptings.  He will guide you.  Keep yourself pure.  Keep a "short account" with Me.  When you stumble, quickly repent and get up.  Don't fall back into condemnation and regret.  I am the I AM.  I am the God of the present.  Live in the moment.  Let go of the past and trust Me for the future.  Look for those who have ears to hear and hearts that hunger for more of Me.  My Spirit shall bring them.  Be faithful and obedient in the small and I shall bring the increase.

Lk 9:59-62 (KJV) 59 And he said to another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.  60 Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.  61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.  62 And Jesus said to him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Rom 13:11-14 (KJV) 11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.  14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Mk 6:4 (KJV)  4 But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Lk 9:5 (KJV)  And whoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

2 Tim 2:4-7 (RSV) 4 No soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to satisfy the one who enlisted him. 5 An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6 It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. 7 Think over what I say, for the Lord will grant you understanding in everything.

John Ives, 2/18/09 Wednesday  "How Great is Our God”;” Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome";

"In the Garden"

The days of tribulation are approaching to try the hearts of men.  On that day what has been hidden shall be revealed.  Those whose souls are shallow and lean shall give forth shouts of panic, exasperation and despair.  Those who have feasted upon My presence and have dwelled in My secret place shall shine forth in quietness of spirit and confidence of heart.  The strength of man shall not avail.  The faith of those who have trusted in vain religion shall be shaken and crumble.  Now is the time to fix and establish your hope upon an unshakable foundation.  Now is the time to make your salvation sure.  The storm shall reveal that which is genuine and that which is counterfeit.  Words alone will not suffice.  They must have become life within you.  Cry out for the light of My Spirit to search your heart.  Cleanse the spots and purge the blemishes.  Be washed with My pure water.  Take captive every thought that is contrary to My Spirit's revelation.  Root up any deep wounds of bitterness and rebellion.  Renounce inner vows that were made from anger or hurt.  Do surgery upon that which is unclean.  Allow Me to make you whole so that the enemy will not have any hold upon you that will cause you to waver.  Forgive so that you may be forgiven.  Give no place to the slightest portion of pride within you.  Humble yourself that I may exalt you.  Let My peace reign within you.  Be satisfied completely in Me.  Submission is the source of the power to overcome.  Be strengthened today for the approaching adversity.

Heb 10:38 (KJV) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Ps 1:2 (KJV) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Is 26:3 (KJV) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

John Ives, 2/10/09 Tuesday  "Agnus Dei"; "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus"

There is another gospel coming from the American pulpit.  It is a gospel void of the power to truly change lives.  In passionate words it speaks of My cross, but only of MY sacrifice.  Where is the demand for denial of self and bearing your own cross?  I did not come to the earth and give My life so that I could make people's lives a little more bearable.  In many places, church has become little more than a social club.  Ask yourself a simple question, "Are the gates of hell prevailing?"  I birthed My church in real power, yet the leaven of the Pharisees has stolen that power.  Form has replaced reality.  You cannot say, as the Centurion said, that you HAVE authority because you are UNDER authority.  The striving of the soul has replaced true humility and submission to Me.  You cannot be resurrected unless you first die!  You must take up your cross DAILY!   Though you appear to be rich in God, you are lukewarm, wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked!  Forsake your lukewarm ways.  Return to the love you had for Me at the first.  Gain true understanding of Me.  Burn your bridges behind you.  Become a new creation in Me.  Don't allow the snares of the old season to once again entangle you.  Free yourselves and come and follow Me.

Lk 9:23 (KJV) And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

John Ives, 1/28/09 Wednesday  "O, the Glory"; "We Are Standing"; "Glory to the Lamb"

Remember that I said there is a way that seems right to man, but the way leads to death.  Human reasoning must always give place to the leading of My Spirit.  I am never in a rush.  I have never been taken by surprised, nor have I ever been perplexed.  Take your eyes off of the troubles that face you. Fix your sight upon Me.  Where is your faith?  Where is your confidence?  Fasten your hope in Me and cry out for My insight and revelation.  Revelation comes as you act on what has already been revealed.  It's not enough to have the Word within you.  You must DO the Word.  Above all, in all that you do, be sure that My peace is judging your actions.  You must spend time with Me so that you will develop ears that are keen to hear My voice even in the din of many voices clamoring for your attention.  You must find your place among those of a like heart so that My wisdom may be confirmed in many witnesses.  You must be committed to being taught and pruned by those whom I have set over you to care for your soul.  You must not allow your garments to become stained by the allure of this present world.  That means that you will need to clear off your calendar, turn off your television, cancel engagements or whatever it takes to make time for Us together.  It means giving Me the "right" to reorder your life.  It means more "Mary time" and less "Martha time."  It may cost you some sleep, but you must catch the vision that I have for you.  There is far too much "busyness" being carried out in the name of building My kingdom and far too little building of My kingdom within.  Ask yourself, "Which will produce fruit that will endure?"  Let's get about building that kingdom, first in YOU and then in others.  Fruit of this type can be spotted a mile away.  It's this kind of fruit that My Spirit can anoint.  Transformed lives don't go forth with a message for the world; they ARE the message!  This is the work to which I have called you.  Don't be anxious nor become discouraged.  I have everything under control.

Jer 29:11-13 (RSV) 11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart.

Col 1:27-28 (RSV)  27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ.

Ps 16:11 (KJV)  Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Jn 17:21-23 (RSV) 20 "I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them even as thou hast loved me.

Eph 4:13-16 (RSV) 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love.

1 Tim 4:3-4 (RSV) 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.

John Ives, 1/21/09  Wednesday  " Alleluia "

You are very close to coming forth and just as things become tight and narrow at the neck of a bottle, even so your present difficulties are but a temporary, passing thing.  It's a birthing canal.  Soon the feeling of being compressed shall pass and you shall enter into a wide new realm.  It is the eye of the needle.  Be willing to strip off anything and everything that would hold you back from entering in.  The burdens of the old season cannot pass through.  Don't loose heart so close to the end.  Though the struggle has seemed to be long and difficult, once you behold what I have prepared, you will quickly forget the sorrows and disappointments of the past as you embrace a brand new environment and atmosphere.  The same old world will be there, but you will view it from a new perspective and inner strength.  It shall be a new season where you shall cease from laboring in your strength alone and will know the sustaining power that comes from a resurrected life.  Your new nature shall rest upon quiet confidence in My wings.  It will be at just the right time, for this year shall be one of great shaking and calamity.  Men shall become exasperated and despondent, as the structures that they have depended upon shall crumble.  Kingdoms of the soul shall fail.  Dry, empty religion shall not bring solace and relief.  Only that which is of My Spirit shall weather the storm until the end.  I have been building a testimony within you while you have been hidden.  The time of patient endurance has not been in vain.  A season of great anointing and fruitfulness is dawning.

Heb 6:12 (KJV)  That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Heb 6:15 (KJV)  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Hab 2:2-3 (AMP) 2 And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.

Gal 6:9 (RSV)  And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.

Jas 5:7 (AMP) So be patient, brethren, [as you wait] till the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious harvest from the land. [See how] he keeps up his patient [vigil] over it until it receives the early and late rains.

Gal 6:22-23 (AMP) 22 But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, 23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

John Ives, 1/14/09  Wednesday  "To Be Like Jesus"; "Glory to the Lamb"

Don't allow yourself to become discouraged by the trials and tribulations that confront you.  I am working My perfect will through them.  I am not the author of them, but they provide the resistance that will strengthen your "spiritual muscles."  Rejoice that I am with you always.  You shall learn to hear My voice even in adversity and affliction.  Soldiers train many days before they are thrust into battle.  Nerves of steel are developed as they learn to depend on their leaders and fellow soldiers.  Skills are honed.  The lax ways of civilian life are forsaken, for they know that a battle approaches.  A new respect for authority, duty and honor becomes ingrained within them.  It is the same process that is calling those who would press into My full, glorious life.  It is the life of the DISCIPLE!  It is a disciplined life.  The time is quickly approaching when those who have "signed up" will be suddenly thrust into the raging battle.  The strength of the onslaught has not been seen before.  The western world has been sold a "candy coated" gospel.  They desire the crown of glory, but few are willing to receive the crown of thorns.  This culture quickly turns from the first sight of suffering.  It’s a whole nation of "couch potatoes" and "victims."  Most of those who profess to be My church have itching ears and have little interest in searching the scriptures and seeking Me.  They want the "easy street" and "fire insurance."  They have believed the lie that all I expect from them is a little piety and their "good works."   Where are those who cry out to Me for holiness and righteousness?  Why does the blatant trumpeting of those things that would bring shame and embarrassment to past generations not vex the heart of this nation?  The spirit of wickedness and the spirit of religion have had their way of most of those in this perverse, conscience-seared culture.  It's time for My remnant to rise up in the power of My Spirit and throw off the weights and sin that has ensnared them.  I am granting a BRIEF season for repentance.  During this time, My Spirit will once again move through the camp and men's hearts shall know the fear of God and sense the impending peril.  My judgment shall go forth and their eyes shall see.  The ears that have become dull shall be opened.  The Captain of the armies of heaven, the Lord of hosts says, "Awake all you who have slumbered!  Come to your senses all you who have drifted!  The time of preparation is drawing to an end!  Strengthen what has been in disrepair.  Wash yourselves in My pure water.  I am calling to those who belong to Me!  Judge yourselves with My true judgment.  Repent from your wayward ways!  Loose yourselves from this wicked world.  Return unto Me!  I shall raise up true shepherds who have My heart for the sheep.  They shall gather the lost sheep.  They shall show the way to My true life.  Quickly repent and find your place in My kingdom for the storm approaches and the clouds are beginning to form."

1 Tim 6:6 (AMP)  [And it is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain.

1 Tim 6:12 (AMP) 12 Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses.

Phil 4:11-13  (AMP) 11 Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am. 12 I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want. 13 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].

2 Cor 3:16-18 (AMP) 16 But whenever a person turns [in repentance] to the Lord, the veil is stripped off and taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). 18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

2 Cor 4:7-12 (AMP) 7 However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves. 8 We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; 9 We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed; 10 Always carrying about in the body the liability and exposure to the same putting to death that the Lord Jesus suffered, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown forth by and in our bodies. 11 For we who live are constantly [experiencing] being handed over to death for Jesus' sake, that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death. 12 Thus death is actively at work in us, but [it is in order that our] life [may be actively at work] in you.

Acts 14:22 (AMP) Establishing and strengthening the souls and the hearts of the disciples, urging and warning and encouraging them to stand firm in the faith, and [telling them] that it is through many hardships and tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.

Lk 24:25 (RSV)  25 And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?"

Rom 8:17 (RSV)  and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

2 Tim 3:12 (AMP)  Indeed all who delight in piety and are determined to live a devoted and godly life in Christ Jesus will meet with persecution [will be made to suffer because of their religious stand].

1 Pet 4:12-19 (KJV) 12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye ; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

2 Cor 5:13-14 (AMP) 13 For if we are beside ourselves [mad, as some say], it is for God and concerns Him; if we are in our right mind, it is for your benefit, 14 For the love of Christ controls and urges and impels us, because we are of the opinion and conviction that [if] One died for all, then all died;

1 Cor 1:18;22-24 (KJV) 22 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

John Ives, 1/07/09  Wednesday  "I Love You, Lord"; "Glory to the Lamb"

In the day of terror, I shall be your strength.  When others around you are trembling with fear, you shall have peace for you have sought and found My hiding place.  You have learned to trust Me in the small and great things and that foundation cannot be shaken by the storm and wind.  When all the wells have dried up around you, My supernatural provision shall be your source.  When all eyes see only fear and destruction, your eyes shall behold My beauty and grace.  You have made your foundation fast and the kingdom within you cannot be shaken when all else is shaking.  The world, as you have known it, is hanging by a thread.  Millions have placed their trust in the ability of man to bring peace and security.  They have ignored the clear warning in the Bible.  Indeed, most have seldom opened it.  They would rather depend upon someone else to tell them what is in there.  They all have "opinions" but few actually possess true conviction that comes from finding the Truth for themselves and making it their very life.  My truth belongs to those who will press through the fog of religious traditions and posses it at any cost.  It is not for the casual and indifferent.  It is this Truth that will set them free.  It is found by the heart, not the mind.  Those that seek Me with their whole heart shall find Me.  Strengthen yourself for the days ahead.  With singleness of mind, fasten your hopes upon the vision that I have given you.  Truly BELIEVE that I am well able to bring to pass all that I have spoken.  Know by My Spirit's voice that you are in your due season for the fulfillment of promises made long ago.  Be filled with My Spirit and quickly obey His promptings without doubting.  Be bold and of great courage.  See yourself as I see you and not through the lens of past failures and disappointments.  It is time to do exploits in the Spirit.  Believe Me for miracles, signs and wonders.  Know when My anointing is upon you.  Immediately act and see great things.  Trust Me to do what seems impossible.

Pr 18:10 (RSV) The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

Ps 18:2 (KJV) The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Ps 27:1 (KJV) A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Hab 3:19 (KJV) The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Gal 5:1-4 (KJV) 1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.  2 Behold, I Paul say to you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.  3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.  4 Christ is become of no effect to you, whoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

John Ives, 12/14/08 Sunday  "I Love You, Lord"

Woe to the inhabitants of this land for the strength of the mighty man has withered and the wisdom of the learned has failed them.  Their rulers have made unrighteous gain upon the backs of those that they have professed to favor.  They have pandered to lust and gain.  They have scoffed at thrift and honesty.  Those who have raised their voice to turn the nation back to its roots have been shouted down by those of reprobate minds who flaunt their abomination to approving masses.  Greedy zealots shouting, “She has the right to choose”, have trampled the cause of the defenseless ones under!  The helpless and frail ones have no voice.  The elderly and the unborn are at the mercy of those who seek only their own convenience and comfort.  The nation has trusted in its vast reserves and presumed upon tomorrow.  Judgment has been stored up while iniquity has abounded.  The air has been filled with empty promises and strident flaunting of that which arises as a stench before Me.  Yet in the midst of this culture of materialism, My remnant still has not forsaken Me.  Their hearts are vexed by what they see.  They have purposed to forsake all in order to gain the kingdom.  They earnestly cry out to Me to keep them pure and set apart. To these chosen few I say, "Arise!  It is time to move into the miraculous realm.  No longer see yourself as merely 'holding on.'  Let the fruit of your faith come forth!  Raise your voice in agreement and declare what I have decreed concerning this age.  Am I not the sovereign King of all creation?  I am looking for those who will not respond to this wicked world with, 'Oh, my!'  Their cry is, 'Thus says the Lord God Almighty concerning this land!'" I am calling those who KNOW their God to do exploits in the Spirit. This means YOU!  Move out of mere profession and into POSSESION of My kingdom.  Those who are mature hear My voice, believe it and ACT upon it without doubting.  It is time to throw off every weight and the sin that has so easily beset you.  It is time to abandon the safety of obscurity and become bold in the Spirit.  Trust Him!  He will not lead you astray.  He will alway agree with My Word.  Stand against the forces of the enemy.  Show forth My righteousness.  It's time to work the works that you were destined to do.

Ps 105:4;7;15;19;38 (AMP) 4 Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength (His might and inflexibility to temptation); seek and require His face and His presence [continually] evermore. 7 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. 15  Saying, Touch not My anointed, and do My prophets no harm. 19  until what he had said came to pass the word of the LORD tested him. 38 Egypt was glad when they departed, for the fear of them had fallen upon the people.

Rom 4:6-7 (RSV) 6 So also David pronounces a blessing upon the man to whom God reckons righteousness apart from works: 7 "Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; 8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not reckon his sin."

1Jn 5:18-19 (AMP) 18 We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him].  19 We know [positively] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] is under the power of the evil one.

John Ives, 12/09/08 Tuesday ""You Deserve the Glory"; "Here In Your Presence"

Do not look to others to compare your walk with them.  The path that I have called you to is different and unique: a different time, different circumstances, different people, a different calling and a unique revelation - not a new revelation, but an overlooked one.  Others may seem to have gathered many and enjoy great esteem and success.  Would you trade places and leave what I have shared with you?  Be patient and labor in the vineyard that I have given you.  It doesn't matter what others may think.  I am calling you to find the excellent in the midst of the good.  It takes time to lay a sure foundation.  Later you will be glad that you did.  Many followed Me until they heard some hard sayings.  The ones that remained saw the life and had purposed in their hearts to follow hard after it.  That's why they were called "disciples."  Don't worry.  They will come as YOU press in to grasp what I have spoken to you.  When My revelation to you becomes settled fact in your heart, then you will move in a new dimension, one that is neither shaken by circumstances, nor who shall follow.  Don't become discouraged.  They path is filled with rocks and obstacles.  As you clear the path and overcome them, your conviction become stronger and the way is illuminated for others to follow.  Be of good cheer.  Though the struggle has been long and filled with times of frustration, fears and doubts, you are emerging into a surer path.  Your trust has been strengthened through what you have endured.  The fruit of My labor is beginning to bear.  Time has not been wasted.  Be careful to discern the ploy of the enemy.  Don't allow the little foxes to spoil the vine.  Guard your determination.  Don't allow it to be swayed or hindered by the pull of well meaning friends or family.  In these times you need discernment between the good and the best as well as between good and evil.  The fruit of righteousness is manifested in being able to clearly hear My voice and having My authority to call it forth in the midst of great turbulence in the world and even in My church.  Time given to Me is time well spent and yields a keen ear and a clear eye to hear and see accurately the leading of My Spirit.  This kind of time must be cultivated, not sought after in the time of desperation.  Religion is of NO use.  The wilderness always precedes the palace.  You have come through many years of what seemed to you to be wandering, but I have been with you all the way.  Now a new season is upon you.  It will be a season of walking in what you have learned.  Embrace it with exhilaration.  Promises spoken of long ago shall become reality.  Our finest hour approaches.

Jn 21:22 (RSV)  Jesus said to him, "If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!"

Phil 1:9-11 (AMP) 9 And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight [that your love may display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment], 10 So that you may surely learn to sense what is vital, and approve and prize what is excellent and of real value [recognizing the highest and the best, and distinguishing the moral differences], and that you may be untainted and pure and unerring and blameless [so that with hearts sincere and certain and unsullied, you may approach] the day of Christ [not stumbling nor causing others to stumble]. 11 May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness (of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [that His glory may be both manifested and recognized].

1 Cor 6:14-18; 7:1 (RSV) 14 Do not be mismated with unbelievers. 17 Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." 1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.

1 Pet 2:9 (KJV) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

John Ives, 11/29/08 Friday "Draw Me Nearer"

Do not rejoice when I reveal My wrath toward your adversaries.  Though there is wrath stored up for the wicked, yet there is tender love and mercy in My heart.  Would you, for the sake of vindication, call forth My wrath and not My mercy?  Should you do this, you do not have the Spirit of My Son who asked Me, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."  Don't you realize that I am not willing that any should perish?  No matter what the onslaught from those who oppose you, it hasn't arisen to the shedding of blood.  I have a question for you.  Are you willing to bless them, rather than allow the curse to fall upon them?  I think you know MY answer to that question.  I have called you to be harmless as a dove and I expect you to seek Me for wisdom that exceeds that of the serpent.  Right now, choose to bless and not curse.  Choose the path to life.  If you do, I shall cause the snare to be broken.  It shall come as you let go of the fear of man and grasp the Love of God.  I shall freely and abundantly fill you with My love if you give up the stone of offense that you clutch in your hand.  Yes, I know their despicable ways, but are you willing to believe Me to change the situation?  Don't you remember that I told you that the key to FAVOR is through BLESSING others?  If you will trust Me on this, I shall take vengeance for your sake against your REAL ENEMY.  I shall be your bulwark and shield.  I shall give you My words to speak in the circumstances that face you.  I shall cause the blinded eyes to see.  Those eyes that have been blinded by the enemy of their souls shall suddenly see what has been veiled from them by the wicked schemes of men (and women.)  True reconciliation shall come -  reconciliation with Me first and with you next.  The treasure within you is a blessing to mankind, not a message of wrath.  Bless them in your secret prayer closet and I shall break the chains that have bound them.  Show forth My mercy, even though you and I know they don't deserve it.  That's why it's mercy, you see.  Health and healing shall return to your house and you shall have an anointing to release it at My prompting.  If gracious words are upon your lips, then peace and joy shall break forth in the midst of the gloom.  Wealth and prosperity shall come racing after you and overtake you.  Lay down your heavy burden and take My yoke upon you.  You are not clever enough to find your way.  You must depend upon Me.  Proclaim My day of deliverance and salvation!  Freely you have received. Freely give.

Jas 1:13-20 (KJV) 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. 19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

2 Tim 2:23-26 (RSV) 23 Have nothing to do with stupid, senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one, an apt teacher, forbearing, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth, 26 and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

John Ives, 11/19/08 Wednesday "Alleluia"; "I Love You, Lord"; "Jesus, Name Above All Names"; "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome";

"Father, We Love You"

Blessed are you for your ears hear and your heart is toward Me.  Millions are living a lie.  They have deceived themselves and believed their blind guides.  They have chosen the wide, easy road.  Their foundation will not hold in the storm that is coming.  The day of terror approaches when men's minds shall be filled with perplexity and their hearts filled with fear.  The "perfect storm" shall arise quickly.  Even greater crises shall suddenly come to the economy, politics, government and everyday life.  Angry mobs shall fill the streets.  Authorities shall be pressed to maintain order.  But to those who have been joined to Me, there shall be peace and security within My fold.  Empty doctrines and shallow commitment will not bring comfort to the soul in that hour.  Many hear My Word, but they truly do not hear Me or know Me.  They have heard what they WANT to hear.  The "gospel" they embraced brought about the same devotion as belonging to the Rotary club.  They have a sense of belonging that arises simply from the soul.  They do "good" works and call it serving Me, but where is the fruit that will last through eternity.  It's time to go beyond "good" and press through the religious fog to find Me.  Even many who profess the so-called "full gospel" have raced right past the elemental STEP ONE.  Remember that I said,” If ANY MAN would follow Me, let him DENY HIMSELF, TAKE UP HIS CROSS, and FOLLOW ME!"  That means that there will be a RADICAL change in their lives.  Even those who have done this face the danger of being sidetracked by sin, weights and the cares of this world.  There are many who have once heard My voice and truly received it, but became disillusioned through circumstances and the lack of true shepherds to nurture and encourage them.  They have settled within the stony walls of religion.  From time to time they look for a glimmer of hope, but they are but scattered leaven in the lump.  Pray that the embers that once burned fervently shall again be stirred and that their eyes shall be opened.  Pray that My "City on a hill" shall arise within your midst.  The flames are indeed burning in your small beginning, but I desire a raging fire.  It's time for a radical change in your midst.  Are you bold enough to ASK and EXPECT ME to lift you to the "next level?"  It's time to be done with just talking about it, to abandon your safety nets and "go out on the limb."  If you believe, ALL things are possible!  You need to get into the waters while My Spirit is stirring them.  Trust Me.  I won't let you down.

Ps 23:4 (AMP) Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

Jas 2:20-24 (AMP) 20 Are you willing to be shown [proof], you foolish (unproductive, spiritually deficient) fellow, that faith apart from [good] works is inactive and ineffective and worthless? 21 Was not our forefather Abraham [shown to be] justified (made acceptable to God) by [his] works when he brought to the altar as an offering his [own] son Isaac? 22 You see that [his] faith was cooperating with his works, and [his] faith was completed and reached its supreme expression [when he implemented it] by [good] works.  23 And [so] the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed in (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) God, and this was accounted to him as righteousness (as conformity to God's will in thought and deed), and he was called God's friend. 24 You see that a man is justified (pronounced righteous before God) through what he does and not alone through faith [through works of obedience as well as by what he believes].

Mt 13:3 (KJV) And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

Mt 13:9-13 (AMP) 9 He who has ears [to hear], let him be listening and let him consider and  perceive and comprehend by hearing. 10 Then the disciples came to Him and said, Why do You speak to them in parables? 11 And He replied to them, To you it has been given to know the secrets and mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has [spiritual knowledge], to him will more be given and he will be furnished richly so that he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 13 This is the reason that I speak to them in parables: because having the power of seeing, they do not see; and having the power of hearing, they do not hear, nor do they grasp and understand.

Jn 10:25-27 (AMP) 25 Jesus answered them, I have told you so, yet you do not believe Me [you do not trust Me and rely on Me]. The very works that I do by the power of My Father and in My Father's name bear witness concerning Me [they are My credentials and evidence in support of Me]. 26 But you do not believe and trust and rely on Me because you do not belong to My fold [you are no sheep of Mine]. 27 The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.

John Ives, 11/12/08 Wednesday "Amazing Grace"; "Great Grace""

Cut the chords that have once again bound you to the past.  Loose the "vision" that they speak over you and grasp My vision of you.  Remember that I "call the things that are not as though they are."  I choose to look beyond the way you are at the present and see what you shall become in Me.  The life that I have called you to cannot be lived in the natural.  It's SUPERNATURAL!  It's beyond anything in you.  Your well meaning, good intentions and effort cannot produce it.  Indeed, they are a reproach to Me!  That's what the Law proves.  You must have My ability, My grace, which enables you to live a life that is pleasing to Me.  It is the power to live My life.  It will not overpower your will.  It only operates through surrender.  The way to this grace is through humility.  Do not rejoice when judgment comes to the wicked.  Instead say, "There, but for the grace of God, go I."  It is My mercy and love that grants you this grace.  You must be filled with it also.  Be patient and kind to those who are struggling.  Lift them up as I have lifted you up.  Guard your lips.  Chasten your thought life.  Do not allow the wickedness of this world to vex you.  You are here for a purpose.  I am making you a vessel of My glory.  Your purpose is to pour out My mercy upon My wounded sheep and to restore them.  I shall increase My fold in the same measure as you increase your capacity to love them.  It is time for new wineskins to hold My new wine.  The mark upon My early disciples was the demonstration of My love among them.  So shall you be marked.

Est 2:7 (AMP) And the king loved Esther more than all the women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the maidens, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Grace: To bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior.

Favor:  To bow the neck only in courtesy to an equal.

Ps 84:11 (AMP)   For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Lk 1:30 (AMP)  And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace (free, spontaneous, absolute favor and loving-kindness) with God.

Mt 23:12 (AMP) Whoever exalts himself [with haughtiness and empty pride] shall be humbled (brought low), and whoever humbles himself [whoever has a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly] shall be raised to honor.

Jas 4:4-6 (AMP) 4 You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it)

John Ives, 11/05/08 Wednesday "The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength";

"Our God is an Awesome God"

Why are you downcast, oh My remnant?"  Where is your hope?  Where is your faith?  Who holds your destiny and your future?  Why do you think that I "let you down?"  Don't confuse the musings of your mind with My wisdom.  My ways are higher than your ways.  Your "salvation" will not come from the hand of man, but only from Me!  There must be tribulation before We "live happily ever after."  It was needful that you prayed and interceded for your nation.  That was your role as a priest before Me.   I say to you, "That was then.  Today is a new day."  While the child was alive, David cried out to Me with many tears, but when the child died he set it aside and moved on with Me.  You must do likewise with your belief that all the country needed was a certain person in the White House.  It's now time to exchange your priestly robe for the robe of Authority.  Though the country went another way than you expected, it didn't take Me by surprise.  I don't have to depend on "polls" to know what will happen.  I have seen the end from before the foundation of the world.  It is now time for My remnant to stir themselves and realize that I have a plan, agree with it and call it forth into the earth.  You must walk by the faith that you receive as I speak to you.  You must move and have your being IN MY SPIRIT!  Though the canvass seems to be dark, I shall paint a magnificent display of My glory upon it.  It's not a time to be downhearted.  Your finest hour approaches.  Are you ready to move in My realm?  Open your eyes to see Me move in the midst of turbulent times.

1 Sam 15:23-23 (KJV) 22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.  23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

John Ives, 11/04/08 Tuesday "Auld Lang Syne"; "Jesus, Name Above All Names"; "I Exalt Thee"

This month shall be the month of the whirlwind.  Changes shall come back to back.  The natural realm shall groan at the things that are coming upon the earth.  In the spiritual realm it's the fast track, the express lane, and a quick work. Suddenly the vision shall come upon you!  The fullness of time has arrived for the words spoken long ago.  What had been hope shall become sight.  The dusty memory of the past shall break forth and your life will take off like a whirlwind.  Many shall be drawn up with you.  You will say, "Toto, this isn't Kansas!"  I shall lead you down some unusual paths.  By yourself, you would not be able to navigate successfully through what lies ahead.

Is 5:18-23 (AMP) 18 Woe to those who draw [calamity] with cords of iniquity and falsehood, who bring punishment to themselves with a cart rope of wickedness, 19 Who say, Let [the Holy One] make haste and speed His [prophesied] vengeance, that we may see it; and let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it! 20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent and shrewd in their own sight! 22 Woe to those who are mighty heroes at drinking wine and men of strength in mixing alcoholic drinks! — 23 Who justify and acquit the guilty for a bribe, but take away the rights of the innocent and righteous from them!

1 Sam 15:23a (AMP) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim (household good luck images).

Jas 3:14-16 (AMP) 14 But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth.

15 This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal). 16 For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices.

Pr 19:21 (RSV) Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will be established.

Pr 20:17-24 (RSV) 17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles; 18 lest the LORD see it, and be displeased, and turn away his anger from him. 19 Fret not yourself because of evildoers, and be not envious of the wicked; 20 for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

John Ives, 10/21/08 Tuesday "It's Not By Might Nor Power"

Fasten yourself to the mast!  Make sure where your faith rests.  Cry out to Me to wrap you with My arms of love and hide you within My wings of safety.  Very soon the storm shall suddenly rage. The tempest shall arise and wind and waves shall come to try all men.  Shall I not respond in My holy indignation against this perverse and arrogant generation?  There are even those who profess My Name, but do not truly know Me and are as the rest of this rebellious nation.  They have believed a candy-coated gospel that calls for a little piety but does not demand a changed life.  Were it not for the sake of My remnant, I would utterly destroy.  But I have remembered the covenant of their forefathers and shall faithfully preserve them.  The rebellious and faithless shall feel the scourging of My wrath.  They have turned to man to deliver them from calamity.  Millions have put their trust in one man.  They have not sought Me.  They have rejected My servants and scorned My mercy.  It is not in man's power to control all that is coming upon the earth.  They shall be overwhelmed.  I shall be exalted on high.  I shall make known My mighty power.  Those who have not yet hardened theirs hearts shall turn in their desperation.  These things shall soon be revealed. Take courage that your life is hid in Me.  Pray for the harvest that shall come in.

Is 10:15 (RSV)  Shall the axe vaunt itself over him who hews with it, or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it? As if a rod should wield him who lifts it, or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood!

John Ives, 10/14/08 Tuesday "You Deserve the Glory"; "Jesus, Name Above All Names": "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome"; "Glory to the Lamb"

How strange that a nation will inscribe, "In God We Trust" on their coins, yet in days of great distress not acknowledge Me.  I hear the cry, "Why, why, O Lord has this calamity come upon us?"  I have shaken and shall bring a great shaking.  Only that which cannot be shaken shall stand.  There is a new order coming.  In a moment all things shall change.  The days of "Ozzie and Harriet" are long gone.  The screens of entertainment show rebellion, strife, and lust.  In religious gatherings I am paid only lip service.  The hearts of this people are only upon their desires and pleasures.  Yet there are those peculiar ones who still seek Me.  They are vexed at the wickedness around them.  They yearn for My presence.  I shall reveal My glory in and through them.  I shall bring this nation back to its heritage.  The strident voices and fists raised toward heaven shall be humbled by the revelation of My righteousness.  My Spirit shall sweep across the masses and they shall know that I am God and judgment is at the door.  The fear of the Lord shall shake men’s hearts.  Shallow religion shall tremble.  The eyes of the nation shall be turned to the "Bible Belt."  The city that is known for police dogs and fire hoses shall be known for the great move of My Spirit that shall change the heart of the city.  The walls of race, culture and intolerance shall melt.  The cry shall be, "Thy kingdom come!"  Multitudes shall be drawn to the fire.  All this shall quickly come.  I have been at work bringing the pieces of the puzzle together.  I have not forgotten the Words that I have spoken.  They have been waiting their appointed time.  Now is their due season.  Come forth into the harvest!

Ps 25:14 (AMP)  The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.

Mt 13:10-13 (AMP) 10 Then the disciples came to Him and said, Why do You speak to them in parables? 11 And He replied to them, To you it has been given to know the secrets and mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has [spiritual knowledge], to him will more be given and he will be furnished richly so that he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 13 This is the reason that I speak to them in parables: because having the power of seeing, they do not see; and having the power of hearing, they do not hear, nor do they grasp and understand.

Ez 12:2 (AMP)  Son of man, you dwell in the midst of the house of the rebellious, who have eyes to see and see not, who have ears to hear and hear not, for they are a rebellious house.

Titus 1:15-16 (AMP) 15 To the pure [in heart and conscience] all things are pure, but to the defiled and corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are defiled and polluted. 16 They profess to know God [to recognize, perceive, and be acquainted with Him], but deny and disown and renounce Him by what they do; they are detestable and loathsome, unbelieving and disobedient and disloyal and rebellious, and [they are] unfit and worthless for good work (deed or enterprise) of any kind.

Heb 3:12-13 (AMP) 12 [Therefore beware] brethren, take care, lest there be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to cleave to, trust in, and rely on Him], leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the living God. 13 But instead warn (admonish, urge, and encourage) one another every day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [by the fraudulence, the stratagem, the trickery which the delusive glamor of his sin may play on him].

The world is standing before a great precipice.  Greed and pride have brought about the peril of the moment.  Where is the repentant cry for mercy?  In their arrogance they believe they can "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps."  They do not realize that they have torn the very fabric of society and the masses have lost the trust they once placed in their leaders.  They are ripe for the emergence of one who will promise them peace and stability.  The demand for financial security will usher in the means of the antichrist.  The cry will arise for oversight of all financial transactions under the veil of protection from graft and corruption.  They will even call it patriotism.  World markets will move toward interconnection and nations shall yield their sovereignty in this respect.  The words of the prophets shall not be heeded and indeed, those who try to raise this point shall be the object of derision and scorn.  All this must come to pass for the stage is being set for the culmination of the ages.  Yet in the midst of the world racing toward wickedness upon wickedness, I am at work bringing about the revelation of my true church.  It shall not be expressed in the glitzy, slick, "prosperity now churches" that are springing up.  No, do not look for My true presence there.  I choose to dwell with those of a contrite and broken heart.  They are not about pretense.  In humility they have emptied themselves to be filled with My glory.  They have chosen the hard, narrow way that leads to life.  The do not even appear upon the world's radar.  Their cry is, "Change us, Lord, that we may be as You are."  These are the vessels that I can use for My noble purposes.  They have found the secret passageway into My Rest.  Their hearts are not filled with fear, because My love has bound them together with each other and with Me.  Their testimony in the face of the calamity before them is, "This is but a small thing in the sight of our God!"  I shall cause their numbers to swell.  I shall bring the remnant together.  I shall shepherd them in My green pastures.  As in the life of David, they shall use their faith against the bear and the lion and shall be prepared for the giants to come.  Those who look upon them will see foolishness and folly.  But they won't have eyes to see.  I shall pour out My favor upon them and they shall do mighty works such as has never been seen before.  They shall be My witness in the world.  The events of the days ahead shall seem to be rushing more quickly.  Time is ticking down for many.  Give voice to My Spirit's groaning.  Sound the alarm.  Awaken My Saints.  Great fruitfulness is decreed for you.

Jn 15:19-20 (RSV) 19 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all that he himself is doing; and greater works than these will he show him, that you may marvel.

Jn 14:10-14 (RSV)  10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves.12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; 14 if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

Jn 14:18-23 (RSV) 18 "I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?" 23 Jesus answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Hab 2:3 (RSV) For still the vision awaits its time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seem slow, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay.

Gal 6:9 (RSV) And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.

Mt 24:48-51 (RSV) 48 But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed,' 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eats and drinks with the drunken, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, 51 and will punish him, and put him with the hypocrites; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.

Do not allow your attention to be captivated upon what is quickly coming to pass upon the earth.  Especially do not give heed to the senseless babbling of "talking heads" who profess to have wisdom, but are ignorant and blind to what is truly taking place. Their strident rhetoric brings vexation to the soul and frustration to the mind.  You cannot take a steady diet of this without loosing the hope within you. The events of the day are but mere mile-markers on the road to eternity.  To the truly wise, they bring awareness to the times and seasons.  I have already said that the days are evil in so far as the world is concerned.  But that's just the point!  What really matters is what I have said and what I am now saying concerning MY plans for the days ahead.  To set your mind on the world is death.  Look away, My beloved.  Hear what My Spirit is whispering to you.  Let Him carry you as an eagle soars upon the wind.  Do not allow the demands of this life to strangle the new life within you.  In the month of the pumpkin you shall begin to celebrate the feast of Thanksgiving because of the bountiful harvest the new land shall yield.  I have My own "October surprise" planned.  Your faithfulness shall bring a great reward.

Col 3:1-4 (RSV) 1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

John Ives, 9/25/08 Thursday "How Great is Our God"; "His Banner Over Me is Love";

"You Deserve the Glory"

When you abide in Me and dwelling in My presence becomes the seat of all your reality, then you will truly begin to walk in the new realm that I spoke about.  If I said it, it IS fact!  You need to look up all the times that I use the phrase "VERILY" in My Word.  Do not fear trials, testings, temptations, adversities and afflictions.  They are your means of driving a stake in the ground to establish your territory and making it a settled fact.  This is what is called "faith."  I have called you to dwell in tents.  Your territory and assignment is for a season.  Even your stay on earth is for a season.  While you dwell in your established territory it is yours, but if I call you to pull up your stakes and go, you must follow Me.  You don't want to be in yesterday' s season when the cloud of My anointing has moved.  Your TRUE territory is IN MY PRESENCE.  Make sure that your affections are upon Me and not on what I give you.  I am a jealous God, and an All Consuming Fire.  Be of good cheer, though.  There is no good thing that I will withhold from those who delight themselves wholly in Me.  These are they who truly say, "I am my Beloved's and He is mine."  My kingdom belongs to those who will seize and possess it by My Spirit.  Many try to "make it work" by using "proof texts" and speaking by rote what I have said.  Without entering by My gate, it is mere dry and empty presumption.  My gate is through My Son and His example.  They who would enter in must come through the "eye of the needle" and empty everything of themselves.  It is the way of the Cross.  I shall surely hear the cry of those who earnestly are at the end of themselves and humbly come to Me.  The demands of this new season will make it difficult for many to follow.  They must quickly decide to put away their fears and uncertainty and forsake the ways of the past.  They must lay down their familiar teachings and their traditions of men and hear what the Spirit and the Bride are saying.  Their teachings and traditions have made My Word of no effect.  Yet outside the cathedrals of the religious spirit, there is a cry arising from the wilderness saying, "Come!  Quickly embraced the opportunity at hand!  Do not despise your day of visitation!  Come out of the stony walls and rush to Me!"  Summer is over.  Fall is here.  The old generation is passing away, and it is time for the new one to arise.  "GENERATION" DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN "AGE."  Because you have walked with Me and learned My ways during the last season, you shall be equipped to nurture and equip others.  Expect to be used in new and different ways in this new season.  Expect new levels of My anointing.  The obstacles of the past have now become stepping-stones to your future.  Arise and go forth in My power.

Jos 1:5-9 (AMP) 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. 6 Be strong (confident) and of good courage, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only you be strong and very courageous, that you may do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. 9 Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Is 30:15a (AMP)  For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength.

Rom 5:3-5 (AMP) 3 Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.

John Ives, 9/24/08 Wednesday "Great Grace"; "Sing, Alleluia to the Lord";

"Let the Glory of the Lord Rise Among Us"

There is a changing of the guard coming, a passing of the torch.  It is the end of an era and the beginning of another one.  In this new season, you must move from the plow to the sickle and from the sweat of the brow to the Voice of command.  Angels are descending and ascending.  They are on assignments to bring all things into order so that you may be established in the land.  There shall be victory in areas where you have stumbled before.  I shall bring others who have been laboring alone and they will join with you.  I am weaving a majestic embroidery.  It is time to gather the harvest.  An equinox has occurred and a shift has arisen on the horizon.  The change will be apparent for you shall move in new strength and power of My Spirit.  Do not be surprised at changes that come.  Strategies that have served you well in the past must yield to new avenues and ways of doing things.  You shall learn a more excellent way.  I shall give you wisdom and a word for the moment that shall yield spontaneous and marvelous results.  The anointing shall go forth and all the people shall be struck with awe.  What you shall have cannot be obtained by earthly means for it shall be by My Spirit.  Be careful in the days ahead that your faith not be shaken by the things that are coming.  Especially guard your steps in the next two weeks.  Surely I shall bring a great shaking.  Keep your heart open to My voice.

Acts 4:33 (KJV)  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Jn 1:14-17 (KJV) 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Jos 1:2 (AMP)  Moses My servant is dead. So now arise [take his place], go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to them, the Israelites.

John Ives, 9/17/08 Wednesday "Everyday"; "Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome"

Surely I shall fulfill all that I have spoken to you and you shall inherit the promises that I have given you.  I shall reward your faithfulness.  Though there has been few, now there shall be many who shall catch the vision that you have cherished in your heart.  Do not allow yourself to be drawn away by old cares, fears and emotions.  Hold fast to the new life within you.  Remain in My Oneness.  Move by My Spirit.  The anointing shall break the yoke.  Do not fear what you see in the natural.  It is time for you to learn to depend on the supernatural.  All that is coming to pass is but the setting of the stage for your greatest season.
